Robert Emmer, CFP®

Robert (“Bob”) is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who has provided financial planning services to clients for over 25 years. Prior to beginning his career, Bob served 3 years in the United States Army, including a 1-year tour in Vietnam. As a young professional, he discovered an interest in finances and sales, so he began working for a financial planning and investment firm. After building a solid foundation in the profession, including working for a small boutique firm in San Francisco, he affiliated with Associated Securities Corporation for 22 years.

Bob’s patience and compassion help people navigate through very emotional situations. His active listening skills allows him to ask penetrating questions exploring what’s important to them and any roadblocks standing in their way.

He also has taught financial planning classes at University of California Berkeley Extension for 10 years, an experience that allows him to both give back to the community and stay current by interacting with his diverse students.

Bob’s son and daughter live nearby, allowing him to enjoy time with them, especially attending several games each year as devoted fans of baseball and basketball. He also loves swimming and biking along the paths of San Francisco Bay, as often as four to five times a week. He still enjoys playing golf and continues to search for more time to play!

As an example of Bob’s commitment to our community, he supports two girls who attend San Francisco City Academy.
